Your Journey with Valentina as your
Birth Doula

As a holistic birth doula, I am dedicated to supporting you through every step of your journey into parenthood. My approach is both science-based and deeply personal, understanding not just the physiological aspects of birth, but also the emotional and mental transitions that come with becoming parents. A Holistic
Whole-Person Approach
to Birth

My aim is to unite the physiological and emotional aspects of childbirth, providing you with a well-rounded, supportive experience. By combining science-based practices with a natural approach, I strive to ensure that you feel empowered, informed, and supported every step of the way.

I am here to help you navigate the incredible journey of becoming parents, offering continuous support, education, and care. Together, we can create a birthing experience that is as positive and empowering as possible. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about my services, please feel free to reach out.

I look forward to being part of your journey into parenthood!

Our work begins before labour. During pregnancy, we spend time discussing your birth preferences, what you hope for and anything that may be worrying you. We can work on your birth plan, talk through what to expect during labour and explore the different options that may be available to you.

Preparation can include:

  • Your birth preferences and birth plan

  • Understanding labour and what to expect

  • Comfort measures and ways of coping with labour

  • Preparing your partner for their role

  • Exploring fears, concerns or previous experiences

  • Understanding your options and preparing for decision-making

The aim isn't to prepare for one perfect version of birth, but to give you knowledge, tools and confidence that remain useful even when plans change.

During your birth, I am on call from 37 weeks and join you when you need me during labour.
Once I arrive, I remain with you throughout your birth, offering continuous support according to what you need in the moment.
This can include physical comfort measures, position changes, massage, breathing and relaxation, practical support, helping create a calm environment and
making space for you and your partner to stay connected.

If your birth moves from home to hospital, I continue with you through the transfer and remain part of your support.
Your partner remains an important part of the birth. My presence isn't intended to replace them, but to support you both, bringing experience and another pair of hands so that your partner can focus on being with you.

Birth support doesn't simply end when the baby arrives.
My support continues after your baby is born. I stay with you through the birth of the placenta and the first hours afterwards, while you meet your baby and settle into those early moments together. During the golden hour, I help protect the space around you, support the first feed, make sure you are comfortable and help with the practical things happening around you while the midwife or medical team continues their care. I usually stay for around two hours after the birth of the placenta, leaving once you and your baby are settled and it feels like the right moment to give you space as a new family.

Afterwards, there is often a story to process: what happened, what you remember, what surprised you and how you feel about the experience.
Our postnatal debrief gives you space to tell that story without judgement or interruption. I can help you revisit events or answer questions where I can, but the purpose isn't to analyse your birth or decide what it should have been. It is your experience, and there is value in having the time and space to make sense of it in your own way.

Birth support that can continue after birth

If you would like the person who supports you during birth to continue caring for you afterwards, birth doula support can also be combined with kraamzorg through The Juno Way.

Preparing Together

Birth Doula Packages

There are two ways to book me as your birth doula, depending on when we begin working together and how much preparation and support you would like before birth.
